Silver fox posable art doll by LisaToms Silver fox posable art doll by LisaToms
As I promised, more photos of him to show all the sides :D

---------------
This is the first of my new line of realistic animal dolls!
He is my first resin poseable fox too! He is completely hand made, I sculpted the face and paws, made a mold from them and casted in resin, he is also hand painted and hand sewn, and he has a wire armature inside that allows him to be posed. I also made the eyes.

He is around 1 foot ( 30 cm) from nose to tail tip.

Materials: head and paws are made of polyurethane resin ( that is extremely durable), body is made of faux fur and the eyes are crystal clear polyurethane resin.

PLEASE READ! I'm NOT open for commissions and HE ISN'T FOR SALE yet, because I have to make at least one more to figure out the time they take me to complete so I can put a price for them. Hope they can be for sale very soon! :)

So sorry to bother you, but my HUSBAND just about died when he saw this fox masterpiece of yours. So, I was just wondering if your commissions are open, and how much I should expect to pay for one just like this. Thanks so much!!!

he looks so real that i can imagine him walking around like a little fairy=)

i have a little question, i want to try making these polymer clay face ( or with clay legs also)little animals,
but i have no idea how to attach the clay/resin to the fur
how you do that? glue the face onto fur? or you make some holes in the head mold, then sew it together? or??????
i will be so grateful if you can give me some advices

Wow, I assumed that you'd buy the eyes - I couldn't imagine that such nice eyes can be self-made - that's great :D Is the eye-color from painted-on acrylics or colored resin?
I only have experience with super sculpey - are you still using this or do you stay with resin?
I'm looking forward to more beautiful dolls, they are lovely!

Thank you :)
The color is from painted-on :P
I sculpt my originals from super sculpey, yes. The resin is only to make copies of the original sculptures

I have been looking for a kind of kit, or "put it together" art doll for a little while since I love building stuff. Would you consider selling one in pieces unpainted with some fur? I completely understand if that is not something you are comfortable doing, but I thought i'd ask. ^^

T-T I had the reply almost finished but it has been deleted
I try again xD

Well, I had an idea long time ago of making "paint it yourself" dolls for a bit cheaper than a finished one.
I wasn't so comfortable with the idea of selling a doll in pieces to put it together by the owner because they're made with my own way of making dolls and if the owner haven't enough experience in making them they could came out bad or wrong. This also means that I would have to make detailed tutorials and instructions of all the building process and I haven't enough time for this u.u'
But my idea was making a doll already built by me, with the fur color of your choice, with the resin parts sanded and primed in a base color but without painting. It would also come with the fur parts near the parts to paint properly covered and protected. So the owner could paint it himself with acrylic paints.
It would be easy and wouldn't require any tutorial or instruction,so was the best option for me. But I wasn't sure if people would like this...

What do you think? :)

Oh, sure! That would work too!
I totally understand not wanting stuff to turn out badly and tutorials do take quite a bit of time and effort to complete, and make idiot proof.

I think what you suggested would be a pretty cool option ^^

Also, exactly how hard is it to bend him? And can the entire body bend, or just the neck and legs? And tail?

:iconlisatoms:

I think isn't hard to bend him. And yes, he's entirely posable, from the head to he tail tip. It's just I didn't take photos of other poses xD but I will when I come with the next fox doll :)

haha well, what do you think would be a reasonable price for them? just curious :P
I think the price will be around 100-120 euros + shipping, maybe a bit less or more. But the customs will be a bit more expensive ( also depending on the complexity, of course).

Hmm... I think maybe 80 euros sounds like a good place to start. How much money do you pay for materials and all?
Reply
:iconlisatoms:
LisaToms Featured By Owner Aug 16, 2012  Professional General Artist
Well, it's difficult to figure the materials because I pay an important amount of money for them, but the amount is larger than the used in a doll ( most of my furs were bought by the yard, and the resin and silicone it's a minimum of 1-2 kg), so I still have to figure out this too.
And at first I wanted to sell these for 80 euros but the first fox ( this silver one) took me more than expected. It's for what I need to make at least one or two more, to figure exactly how many hours they take me to put more accurate price.
