Little forest spirit by LisaToms Little forest spirit by LisaToms
This little guy suffered a terrible accident in the oven and I felt very sad every time I saw him , so I didn't want to work more on it. But my mother convinced me to finish him and I could save him. And now I'm very happy with how he turned out ^-^

He is 100% handmade. The head and paws are hand sculpted polymer clay, and the body is handsewn faux fur and fleece for the belly.
He is posable, but don't have any type of armature inside of him, so he is soft. Is also filled with a lot of sand to give him weight, so he gives a very realistic impression when you hold him ( like a real sleeping ferret or something like this XD).
It took me about 35 hours or more to make. I enjoyed so much doing this, so I will make more dolls inspired in asian dragons like him :D

Hope you like it :)

WOW! I never imagined that I had so many visits in this !! Thank you so much everyone for all the faves, watches and comments, I really appreciate them!!

My little Cousins birthday is coming up, and he's in love with Stuffed Animals and Dragons. If you could direct me to one that is for sale and how much it costs, that would be a big help. Thank you :)

Yes, it's a polymer clay called super sculpey. It's very similar to fimo clay

Uuuh he's very cute, so detailed and realistic! My dream job is making creature models and other 3D art but I haven't resources and don't be good (because I haven't resources to learn).

But that's very great, harm that he's only a model! Hm still cute. :3

Thank you so much! if I could live of making dolls and sculptures would be my dream job too!

About resources to lear, I can only say that the best one is practicing a lot. I'm self-taught on this too, it's only practicing, experimenting and try to improving your skills from your fails!
Just a tip for if you want to practice your sculpting skills, I used to sculpt things out of the clay for kids ( I don't know how it's called in english) just for practice. It's a cheap material and works so nice to sculpt ( but note that this would be only for practice because it don't get hard)

All is so expensive here in Finland... But I know that if have resources, could be better...

I think I could to go back with my hobby (model horse hobby) and start with painting and custom models without cutting all body parts out (because I am bad and like to kill model horses but can't remake the feet etc to different pose). But mu problem's that I am dead as painter and sculpting needs much space and more and I haven't them. But hmm, I think if I buy airbrush at sometimes I could to paint with it... Maybe.
That's so true... Using cheap materials (DAS, DArwi etc) is first tip from talented sculptors to starters. Blah I use DAS and it's just good for me although is "furry"... But here in Finland also that's expensive (6 euros, how much at the Spain?), when thinks it's only weaker material. Epoxy sounds good and I know some artists from FMHC does use it, but they're talented and have the life... Hmm.
I don't know how expensive place Spain is but I think it because we have same money, haha... *nice to be finnish, we can buy nothing*

Here in Spain all craft supplies aren't cheap too >.<

Oh, and I didn't mean this type of clay like DAS, etc ( these are airdry clays), I was meaning the color plasticine for kids ( [link]). The texture is very similar to the polymer clay, but this would be only for practice sculpting skills because it can't get hard, so you can reuse it so many times :P

DAS clay or air dry clay here is a bit more than 3 euros.
Maybe you could find something interesting and cheaper on the internet.
I use the polymer clay called Super Sculpey and it's about 16 euros

Why all euro countries are expensive? Is that even true... Bp

Sounds a little same as DAS (airdry, weak), but looks like so different. I love Cernit clay, but I am not sure about it's airdry version (I have heard about airdry but haven't seen ever). Cernit is good, but I can't use it with customozing because it needs frying in the oven, and it's true that plastic toys (Schleich etc) don't like that. But DAS is more bad to sculpt. Cernit is more harder and like plastic. Also masters use it maybe and I don't be surprised why. Amazing clay. [link], [link] < Sculpted by me.

I buy my DAS clays with 6 euros... Cheaper materials are just in internet and I don't need them yet (because skills), but I know good Finnish webshop. Maybe I use it sometimes in the future. B)

I love the face and the horns. Also the paws are very detailed and it reminds me of a dragon, and also just how it is a very long body. The coloring could be changed though.

About the coloring it's not the most important thing and I'm going to make so many dragons with different color schemes when they are casted :D

That's the reason why I'm working on a casted one! Because I'll can be offering them as a commission and also as premades in my etsy shop!
If you want one just let me know and I'll put you in my waiting list ( for commissions) or in my advice list if you're more interested on a premade :)
